It happens to all of us, there’s no denying it. There are those times in your life when you just can’t seem to muster up the energy to get yourself to do anything productive. Maybe it’s because you’ve been facing some problems at work, your love life is the shits, or you’re finding it hard to feel inspired – maybe all of the above or maybe or you just don’t feel like doing LIFE.
Nevertheless, a funk is a funk, and you need to get yourself out of it! And what better way than to do something fun? Here are some fun things you can do to get yourself hyped up when you’re down in a funk or stressed out:
1. Take a Road Trip
A road trip is one of the best ways to get your mood lifted. You’ll get to enjoy some beautiful scenery, explore new places you’ve never been to, talk to new people, make friends, and become more aware of the world around you. This will help you realize that whatever is bothering you is just a small part of the world.
2. Friends Night In
Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you just don’t feel like leaving the sanctity of your home. But staying in the same place feeling the same things can make your mood even worse. So, call up your friends and ask them to come over. Share all your deepest thoughts with them or pop a movie in, grab some popcorn and don’t talk at all. Regardless, you’ll feel a lot better having your friends around you.
3. Take Up a Hobby
Did you use to be a musician back in high school, or maybe you like to sew but haven’t had the time to do so lately. A good way to come out of feeling dull is to take up a hobby – be it something that you’re familiar with or something completely new. The motivation to do something that interests you should come easier than whatever has you down, and once you actually do it, the feeling of accomplishment should get you over the edge. Or at least start to.
