8 Most Dangerous Tourist Attractions In The World

5. The Poison Garden, Northumberland

The gardens in the Alnwick Castle of Northumberland are just like any other garden – except for a gated section of the grounds where warnings of toxicity, allergens, and even death heed visitors. That’s right, it’s an actual poison garden full of the world’s most dangerous flora.

Designed by the Duchess of Northumberland, this part of the garden contains plants that sound like they’ve been plucked right out of a fantasy tale. For e.g. the angel’s trumpet is known to act as an aphrodisiac before poisoning the person. Even though it’s safe to view from a distance, some people have even fainted from the toxic smells released by the plants!

6. La Carretera de los Yungas, Bolivia

The Yungas road in Bolivia is known to be the most dangerous road in the world. The dirt track of over 69 kilometers only measures a few feet. The road has windings and deep ascents, all with an exposed side which has vertical drops of over 1000 m, if someone were to go over the edge. Sadly, many people have plunged to their deaths here, which is what caused the road to be closed for a while. Although recent highway construction directs most traffic away recently, you can still travel this road if you really want to.
