Easy Fixes For 10 Common Problems That Cause Trouble Sleeping

7. Trouble Falling Asleep

Your body doesn’t hurt and you’re not feeling uncomfortable, but you just can’t sleep! Well, that might be because of the phone in your hand right now or that cup of coffee you drank a couple hours before bedtime. Again, avoid caffeine at least 6 hours before bedtime, and switch all electronics off at least before 2 hours. You can also try exercise in the morning and evening, which is good to get your circulatory system going!

If all else fails, try counting sheep (or something similarly boring)!

8. Trouble Staying Asleep

If you’ve fallen asleep but you keep waking up, that’s also annoying as all hell. Turn off your phone before going to bed, and make sure the room temperature is around 68-70 degrees Fahrenheit; so you don’t feel too hot or too cold, and you remain undisturbed (phone ringing, nature calls, sweating, etc.). Alcohol is also best kept away before bedtime.

9. Trouble Waking Up

The answer to your problems waking up in the morning is simple: routine. That’s right, establishing a bedtime routine (i.e. go to bed at 11, wake up at 8, etc.) and sticking to it will groom your body’s internal clock. To achieve this, you must follow the routine no matter what day it is; your body won’t understand that you’re on holiday today but have work the next!

10. Sleep Like a Baby

There you go! Those were the most common problems that we face during sleep and ways to fix them. If these simple solutions don’t help and you’re still having trouble sleeping, then it’s best you consult a doctor or consider booking an appointment with a sleep therapist.
